I am an "amateur" expert on American Revolution history....this is a good story. It's captivating and mostly accurate but the writing is terrible. Maybe it's something to do with "converting" it to Kindle (which is how I read it) but it is loaded with misspellings, transposed words or letters, even the flow of the story is messed up (ie about a page of material that should take place later is switched with a page of material that should be read now but is later...confusing) I am anxiously awaiting the next installment because I can overlook all these technical issues to the heart of the story. As well, the author is a fellow Appleseeder (appleseedinfo.org) so I support his effort wholeheartedly!Product details

Great Book! Would encourage everyone to buy a copy, including Appleseed Instructors. There is a mix of a love story with Daniel and Mag. The other is the great charactors Sam Whittimore and Paul Revere. The Boston Tea Party was a great story to read. The Author also donates a portion of the profit to Project Appleseed. Thank you very much Nelson Abbac! Can't wait for Freedom's Forge, gathering the tinder to come out! I will definitely be buying it!
I just finished Freedom's Forge, Striking the Sparks of Liberty. I found the story compelling and once I got into it I finished it in about 4 days. All in all I found it thoroughly interesting and did not want to put it down. The characters are captivating and I believe that they make you ask, What would I do in that situation? or What side would I align myself with? As a Project Appleseed participant I understand what the author is trying to convey. The story is about men who thought their personal liberty more valuable than life itself. And were willing to pay whatever price obtaining that freedom cost. Looking forward to Book 2.
Excellent reading. Great way to feel how this country was founded. Not with dry facts, but human emotion and personal determination.

It is apparent that Abbac really knows his history as you can find incredibly detailed descriptions of characters, objects and events on nearly every page. I usually don't enjoy historic fiction too much, but I finished Freedom's Forge in 3 days.
Nelson Abbac does an excellent tribute to our founders. The common people living around Lexinton and Concord and the surrounding 30 miles risked everything to defend our Liberty when England decided to confiscate the ball and powder from Concord. A few fictional characters join the cast of the historical reccord. Well done Mr. Abbac, now finish the next book!

A huge compliment to the author! I too am an Appleseed instructor and it was nice to see all my old heros; Paul Revere, Sam Whittemore, and others, all together in the same story.
